Polokwane City FC are set to open their 2016/17 season with an away game to Cape Town where they will be taking on PSL newly formed team Cape Town City FC on 23 August 2016 at 19:30.
Rise and Shine players are confident with a win and 2015/16 breakout star, Thobani Mncwango says that victory awaits in the mother city "I am 100% sure that we will collect maximum points away from home because we had a very good pre-season."
Those that saw Thobani rise to the occasion will attest to the fact that the city striker showed a great level of sportsmanship and he says his supporters should expect nothing short of spectacular " I'll definitely continue where i left off last season and thanks to those that have been with me in the former season"
Meanwhile newly signed star, Rodney Ramagalela says that he's impressed with the team and it has managed to stay on course throughout the preseason "We are ready enough looking at how we prepared from first day of preseason until now. The team looks sharp and ready to break records"
Polokwane City head coach, Luc Eymael says that even though the pressure is on Cape Town City FC as a new team, it is also anyone's game "The pressure is on the shoulders of Cape Town City FC. They are a new team with a new coach and new players which will inevitably translate into big means. Also the added pressure of playing at home, they are faced with a daunting task of having to convince their fans"
